The Promise: A feel-good halftime promotion at a Sioux Falls Stampede hockey game, celebrating teachers by giving them a chance to grab dollar bills off the ice.
What Happened: Teachers were filmed scrambling on their knees collecting $1 bills. The optics horrified viewers, sparking national outrage. What was meant as fun turned dystopian.
What Failed: The concept lacked dignity. The stage undermined the message.
